INCENTIVE/FIT: In Alistair's game save he was never given the option of the Dark Ritual. It was never mentioned to him, and his Hero of Ferelden died killing the Archdemon. A year later, he's still not over it. They went through a year of struggling against a Blight together, and it doesn't seem right that she had to die to do it. So if there was any way to bring her back, wouldn't the price be worth it?

Alistair's a romantic and kind of a monogamist, but it's canon that he's willing to include other people in having a little fun. So once he found people he liked and could open up to, intimacy shouldn't be an issue. He did sign up for this willingly, after all.

ANYTHING ELSE? Alistair trained as a templar and can use some of their abilities, notably nullifying magic. However, he doesn't take lyrium, so those powers are a little rusty, and not up to snuff with any actual, full-fledged templar. He's handy with a sword and shield, however, and will come in with his armor and weapons, though he'll be unlikely to use them. They're all here to get along, right?
